Kampout Signage
You will be traveling on mountain roads that may be unpaved and unlit. Please travel cautiously during sunset and evening hours. As you travel up the mountain, keep an eye out for the pink Kampout "K" directional signs posted along the route. They will help keep you on the right path.
Notice: Cellular-GPS Reception
As you travel up the mountain, you will lose cellular service and your GPS may or may not work accurately. Please do not rely on GPS to guide you to Kampout. It may lead you to the wrong side of the mountain. We highly recommend downloading and/or printing the Map to Kampout before you leave.
Notice: Recreational Vehicles
All RVs and trailers must enter through the East Gate. RVs and trailers must turn right at the fork in Step 3. RVs and trailers cannot enter through the West Gate at the meadow/barn or cross the creek. Severe damage will be done to trailers.
Step-by-Step Directions
From Fresno, travel north on Highway 41 for approximately 45 miles to Oakhurst.
Step 1: Sky Ranch Road
From the HWY 41 / HWY 49 junction in Oakhurst, continue traveling north on HWY 41 through town for 4.1 miles, past the Bass Lake turnoff, to Road 632 (aka. Sky Ranch Road). There is a large brown and white “Sierra Sky Ranch” sign at the Road 632 turnoff.
Step 2: Follow the winding road
Turn right onto Road 632 and travel up the mountain for 8.2 miles, until you reach the fork in the road. You will pass through a residential area before the road starts winding up the mountain. Follow the road to the top where the fork in the road is.
Step 3: Fork in the Road
At the top of the hill there is a fork in the road. Only automobiles may turn left, towards Fresno Dome, to enter Kampout through the West Gate. All RVs and trailers must turn right, towards Soquel Campground and Greys Mountain Campground, to enter Kampout through the East Gate.

Step 4: West Gate (Automobiles ONLY - NO RVs OR TRAILERS)
Turn left at the fork (Road 6S10) towards Fresno Dome. Continue for 1.3 miles, until you see a barn and a meadow. To your right is Kampout signage and the entrance to the event. You have arrived! Enter through the gate and follow the dirt road to Kampout Registration.
Step 5. East Gate (ALL RVs AND TRAILERS - Automobiles OK)
Turn right at the fork (Road 6S40) towards Soquel Campground and Greys Mountain Campground. Continue for 1.5 miles, past Soquel Campground, until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and turn left onto Road 6S08 towards Greys Mountain Campground. Continue for 0.80 miles, past Greys Mountain Campground, until you reach the turnoff for Road 6S38 to Texas Flat Group Campground. Turn left onto 6S38 and travel for 2 miles, until you see a gate on your left with Kampout signage. The gate to Kampout is just before the turnoff to Texas Flat. You have arrived!
Note: This route is also recommended for anyone who does not want to drive their vehicle across a small creek that may or may not be dry.

Once on the Kampout property, there is a small area where you will have to drive over the creek to get to the main campground. This is shallow running water over a rocky bed. Most vehicles can make this crossing without any trouble. But if you'd like to avoid it all together, you will need to take the longer route to the East Gate entrance.

The West Gate route requires vehicles to cross over a small creek bed that may or may not be dry.

The East Gate route takes about 30-40 minutes longer. The East Gate is the only accessible entrance for RVs, trailers, pop-ups, and motor-homes. All participants wanting to bring a recreational vehicle or trailer MUST contact the Kampout Committee a minimum of 1 week prior to Kampout!

Turn right (east) here onto Road 632 (aka. Sky Ranch Road). There is a large brown and white “Sierra Sky Ranch” sign at the turnoff.
